CtrlS pioneers India's first Tier 4 Data Center
Hyderabad, 9th February 2008: Mr. Sitaram Yechury of the CPI
(M) today inaugurated
India's first Tier 4 Datacenter, built by CtrlS Datacenters
Ltd. at Hyderabad. Dr.
J. Geeta Reddy, Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce
and Exports
Promotion, Andhra Pradesh was the guest of honour on the
occasion.
CtrlS Datacenters Ltd. is promoted by the Rs. 500 Crore
Pioneer Group along with
other investors. The Hyderabad based group has over the last
15 years, provided IT
Services, IT Consulting, Internet Services and IT
Infrastructure to customers across
the country. Speaking to the press, Mr. P. Sridhar Reddy, CMD
of CtrlS said, "We
have been in the IT industry for the last 15 years, growing by
more than 100% every
year and believe that this is the right time to invest in the
datacenter business."
CtrlS plans to establish more than 7 lakh Sq. feet of green
datacenter space across
the country in the next five years. Whereas all the existing
datacenters in the
country are Tier 2 and Tier 3, CtrlS is building only Tier 4
datacenters, which are
the highest category of datacenters anywhere in the world.
According to Mr. P.
Sridhar Reddy, a Tier 4 datacenter with its 99.995%
availability, provides the
highest levels of performance for mission-critical IT systems.
The Hyderabad facility of CtrlS can host up to 1,000 racks of
servers. The company
has firmed up plans to expand to Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai,
New Delhi and other
cities, building a capacity to host up to 20,000 racks. The
company is planning to
invest more than Rs. 200 Crore over the next twelve months,
and expects to have more
than 1,000 employees in the next five years.
Mr. P. Sridhar Reddy further added "With our IT background,

investors, a highly experienced and talented team, we are
confident of achieving our
targets by building the world's best datacenters here in
India. Our datacenter
services team has been involved in setting up IT
infrastructure in the country from
the very beginning, right from the mainframe era to the latest
cutting-edge, green
datacenters. We strongly believe that the Indian customer
wants the best in the
world, and not the inadequate Tier 3 datacenters that are
currently available."
